- Use good quality large freezer bags.
- Freeze the cake for 3 to 4 hours to set the frosting if it is buttercream or go directly to next step if it is a fondant and royal iced cake.
- Place it in a plastic bag and suck out all the air using a straw to create a vacuum type seal. Then, close with a tie wrap.
- Place inside a second bag and repeat the process of sealing again. You may even triple-bag just to be sure. Any air will cause freezer burn and take moisture from your cake.
- Place the wrapped cake back in the cake box to protect it from being damaged by other products in the freezer. Do not set things on top of the box.
